Apple Watch SE - image 1

There are quite a few different options in the market today for a smart watch but I bought the Apple Watch SE 2022 for three main reasons: one, I wanted to decrease the time I spent on my phone after dealing with any notification and second, I wanted to track my workouts in a more efficient way and this Apple Watch SE did just that, and finally, I have an iPhone so it made sense to buy a smart watch from the Apple Ecosystem. Here are some specifications of this smart watch at a glance:

  • It has a battery life of up to 18 hours

  • It allows Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity

  • It has a second-generation optical heart sensor, compass, altimeter, gyroscope, accelerometer, ambient light sensor.

  • It offers high/low heart rate notifications, irregular rhythm notifications, cycle tracking, sleep tracking, fall detection, crash detection.

  • It has three different colors to choose from

  • It also comes in two different dial sizes

It was my first ever smart watch and I was very impressed with it. It looked great on my wrist, had a good enough battery life and was not too big not too small for the daily tasks. Additionally, it has a good amount of features as mentioned above like the heart rate monitor, temperature monitor, and most important of all, Apple wallet. I stopped carrying my phone everywhere I went. For example, if I was going running, I would only wear my watch and if I wanted to stop for pick me up on the way, I tapped my watch. Easy peasy.

Let’s talk a bit about the box and accessories inside it. The Apple Watch SE comes with a Sport band that comes in various sizes like S/M and M/L that you can choose from and a 1-meter Magnetic Charger to USB-C cable. Unfortunately, Apple follows its no adapter in the box policy with the watch as well. I chose the S/M band which in my case is true to its size and pretty comfy.

The watch comes in various Midnight (a deep, dark blue/black), Starlight (a warm gold/silver blend), and Silver. I chose Starlight (goes with my iPhone). Consequently, the Sport band came in white which is prone to some marks but can be cleaned easily with a wet wipe or Kleenex.

I take good care of my devices and am not clumsy with them so I never got a screen protector or case for it. But I have a friends who did and the touch screen works just as fine after putting the protective screen on.

So if you are a student who needs a basic smart watch this is the watch for you. I almost have to charge it every other day and it also charges very well on a power bank. If you are someone who is looking for crazy extra features, a LOT of battery life, you might be better off with another smart watch. All in all, this watch is a staple in my daily routine and I am very happy that I got one for myself.
