JBL Go 4 — Tiny Speaker, Surprisingly Big Sound
I bought the JBL Go 4 for my kitchen because I got tired of propping my phone against the paper towels every time I cooked. It's been about a month now. Size and build — this thing is tiny, slightly bigger than a deck of cards. It clips onto my backpack and I barely notice it. IP67 rated so I don't worry about splashes while cooking. Sound quality is surprisingly loud for the size. Fills my kitchen at 60% volume. Bass is warm but don't expect thumping. Podcasts sound great, EDM not so much. Battery is closer to 5.5-6 hours, not the claimed 7. Bluetooth range is mediocre — starts cutting out two rooms away. Button layout is confusing in the dark. For $50 it's solid for daily kitchen use. Don't expect it to replace a real speaker for parties.
